Description
Set in 1950s Tehran, the story introduces seven-year-old Ellie, who enjoys a life of affluence until her father’s untimely death forces her and her mother into a modest home downtown. There, Ellie befriends Homa, a spirited and courageous girl. Their bond deepens as they dream of becoming “lion women,” symbolizing strength and independence. However, when Ellie and her mother have the opportunity to return to their previous bourgeois life, the girls’ paths diverge. Years later, their reunion amidst Iran’s political turmoil tests their friendship and convictions, leading to choices that will alter their lives forever.
